Canadian Heroes 05:01
I’d like to thank David Suzuki
For teaching me about ecology
Your faith in our human potential
All your work has been essential
Great earth defender Suzuki-san
I thank you
I want to know which Canadians are heroes
I want to know in whom to believe
I want to thank you Ms Naomi Klein
For having opened up my eyes in time
No choice, no space, and no employment
Another misguided deployment
We have to fight for life’s enjoyment
For this I thank you
I want to know which Canadians are heroes
I want to know in whom to believe
I’d like to thank you Richard Fadden
For having given us this warning
You say our leaders may betray us
(traitors in the legislature)
Might let the enemy enslave us
(politicians and corporations)
CSIS director Richard Fadden
(standing on guard for all the nation)
I thank you
Would have loved to
see the face on Stephen Harper
When that report came out
which you had authored
Would have loved to
see the face on Kathleen Wynne
When the Globe and Mail said it was Minister Chan
Cause your mechanic might be the engineer
Who’ll change the planet
For the good of all life here
There’s a girl next door
With a cause worth fighting for
Inspiring more than you ever saw before

2. Where Can I Find My Stompin' Tom? 03:00
Where can I find my Stompin Tom?
I want to listen to him all night long
He's not on my country radio
The rock n roll station or Olympic show
I had to buy his DVD
‘Cause they wouldn’t play it on the CBC
The CRTC is a joke / We need public radio
For the people, for the land
For the kids to understand
Our history, our way of life
That’s the kind of songs he writes
Where can I find my Stompin Tom?
I want to listen to him All night long
He's not on my country radio
The rock n roll station or the old disco
I want to go meet Stompin’ Tom
We'd be drinking Moosehead all night long
We'd talk about being Canadian
And all the things that have gone so wrong
On a battlefield afar
Things for Romeo were hard
He played his Stompin’ Tom real loud
And gathered all his troops around
On the darkest hour of the darkest day
Stompin’ Tom can light your way
That’s the power of his song
That’s why I love Stompin’ Tom
I want to go meet Stompin’ Tom
I’d drive across the country
Just to sing him this song
We'd talk about being Canadian
And all the things that have gone so wrong

3. Chataway Lake 02:27
It’s fishing, fishing time
I got my rod and reel and some sinking line
I’m going up to Chataway Lake
Heading up to Chataway Lake
It’s only 45 minutes from Merritt
I just can’t wait, I just can’t bear it
There’s nothing in the world
like letting your line out
Knowing that soon you’ll be
catching a big trout
Going up to Chataway Lake
Heading up to Chataway Lake
Taking off to Chataway Lake
(every summer time)
Join me and you’ll have a good time
I can’t wait to get back out on the lake
Hear the loon call
You just can’t keep me away
I can’t wait to get back out on the lake
It’s fishing, fishing time
I got my rod and reel and some sinking line
I’m going up to Chataway Lake
Heading up to Chataway Lake
I’ll bring along my Red Carrie
I can’t go up without my Doc Spratley
Every day gonna catch my limit
Afternoons jump in and go swimming

4. Trailer Park Boys 3:06
I’m in love with the Trailer Park Boys
And there’s nothing you can do for me
I got my Ricky pants on
I have Bubbles on my wall
I tape every episode
Cause I gotta watch em all
Yeah, Julian’s hot with his positive talk
While Ricky rocks on
Playing airbass to the song
I’m in love with Trailer Park Boys
And there’s nothing you can do for me
Oh, my heart, it almost stops
Lahey’s calling the cops
With Randy by his side,
Wrecking Freedom 35
Oh, I want the boys to win
Make 100 grand in
Small crime, big plans
You just gotta understand that
There’s Corey and Trevor and J-Roc’s cool
I can’t help it I love them too
I’ll bet that you think I’m confused – fine
What do you want me to do?
Yo girls understand
If you're looking for a man
You'll get sick of all the clubs
Cause the guys are d-d-dumb
Go check out the boys at school
When you do there’s nothing cool
Trailer Park Boys are better
Cause they always stick together

5. Gerald Charlie Stomp 3:31
Now it’s two in the morning
And I don’t why
We keep dancing up all night
Two in the morning / The moon is high
We keep dancing up all night
It’s the Gerald Charlie Stomp
The roof flies off / The windows open wide
At the Gerald Charlie Stomp
The fun it won’t stop / All day you’re on top
You can’t get enough
of that good time stuff
Now it’s three in the morning
And I don’t know why
We keep dancing up all night
Three in the morning and the beer ran dry
We keep dancing up all night
It’s the Gerald Charlie Stomp
Gerald Charlie’s got ‘em movin’ now
You’ll get down like you don’t know how
Black Owl Blues is groovin’ now
Clap your hands and scream and shout
Shake ‘er down and move about
Click your heels get it all out
Swing and sway and stomp around
To the Gerald Charlie Good Time Sound
Now it’s four in the morning
And I don’t know why
We keep dancing up all night
Four in the morning friends all bye-byed
The beer ran dry we danced all night
It’s the Gerald Charlie Stomp

6. Forty Degrees Below 3:56
I need a ride I need a ride I crashed my car
Why don’t you come on over
Take me to the bar?
I need a ride I need a ride it’s cold outside
And it’s forty degrees below tonight
My baby kicked me out
She won’t let me back in
Now I’m staying over in the Yukon Inn
With ice for a blanket and
snow for a stove
Right now I’m hurting bad
like nobody knows
I need a ride I need a ride
It’s cold outside
And it’s forty degrees below tonight
Knock knock knock Guess who it is?
My little brother with a beer in his fist
He’s here to pick me up
He’s got a full tank of gas in his pick
up truck
My bad ass brother’s
gonna drive me round
All across town so I can let it all out
To BB-Q Pete’s and Flapjack Flo’s
My wife ain’t here
so she ain’t gonna know
I’m never gonna have
a better time than this
And when we get back
there’s beer in the fridge
Went to the monster truck rally
And a wrestling show
A hot dog eatin’ contest
where we got too full
At Hooty McBoob’s
the drinks were cheap
And over at the Legion
I won some meat
We finally got back
and drank what was left
My bad ass brother’s
what I call the best
Knock, Knock, Knock Guess who it is?
His old lady and she looks pissed
She’s here to drag him home
And once again I’m left all alone
Knock knock knock guess who it is
My little baby with a slap and a fist
She’s here with my stuff
She says she’s had it up to here
And she’s had enough
She tells me once
she won’t tell me again
Don’t come around cause
She won’t let me back in
And I don’t think I can just go back
She said her Uncle Charlie
is gonna kick my ass
He told me once
that he won’t tell me twice
He’ll get me back if I don’t be nice
I should have
thought about it long ago
Now I’m left in the snow,
And there’s nowhere to go
And it’s forty below so

8. Our Canucks (and the Stanley Cup Run of 2011) 2:45
Our Canucks / The Stanley Cup
We’ve waited forty years
Now our time has finally come
1982 1994 / We’re never gonna have to
cry about them anymore
We got Alexander Burrows The Sedin Twins, (The Juice) Kevin Bieksa
to look to for the win
Behind the bench / Alain Vigneault
We’ll follow him to battle
He’s our general and our coach
We will survive Ryan Kesler
will guide us through
We will survive Raffi Torres
will make a meal of you
We will survive Luongo
ain’t letting nothing through
The wait is over / No more debate
No one is stopping us it’s destiny and fate
Feel it in the street feel your heart beat
When you listen on the radio
or watch it on TV
Let ‘em come we got them on the run
We’re running on all cylinders
Until the Cup is won
This is our team / This is our year
2011 the cup is coming here
Put on your blue and green
Or a green bodysuit
if you know what I mean
Get ready to scream and shout
Wave your towel everywhere
Pump your fist into the air
Shake your body in your chair
You just got to let it out
We are Canuck / Its time to rock
Our time is here / Its time to cheer
Go go go Canucks
Bring us home the Stanley Cup

9. Would You Call This Progress 2:38
The buck stops here the kids ain’t right
Why are Mom and Dad
working day and night?
Now the kids don’t know
what they really should know
Sorry Mom and Dad I gotta tell you it’s so
Put on the glasses See all the signs
Manufactured by design
Big bank bailouts New slave class
Hordes at the gate like the Roman collapse
Would you call this progress?
Would you call this progress?
The buck stops here / The media lies
Some of these ideas might seem out of time
But the people don’t know
what they really should know
How they even gonna know how to vote?
When we all realize we have no choice
We’ll rise up and with one voice
Sing “Power to the People”
“I saw the light,
No more darkness no more night”
Do you ever get the feeling
that things ain’t right
Something’s getting close
you’re almost out of time
You feel inside the will to survive
Do you fight or run for your life?

10. Alien Invasion 3:24
Here they come –
From above –
Ray Guns –
Better Run –
Am I dreaming? Can this be real?
It’s an alien invasion
taking over all the nation
here they come
Vancouver gone –
Toronto bombed –
Montreal –
About to fall –
Am I dreaming? Can this be real?
It’s an alien invasion
Taking over all the nation
Here they come
Say your prayers tonight
Before you turn the light off
It’s an alien invasion
Sweeping all across the nation
Here they come
Retreated on –
Through the Rockies
and The Northern Plains
‘Til we stopped –
On the ices of the Polar Wastes
But we were strong –
For we knew there would come a day
We’d battle on –
With the armies of the USA
Against the alien invasion
Taking over all the nation
Here they come -- tonight

My Home on the Fraser
03:27
|
|||
11. My Home on the Fraser 3:27
I live along the mighty Fraser
And there’ll come a day
when I must leave her
But when my wife says I must leave it
I don’t think that she means it
She knows I ain’t movin’
out of my town
‘Til God is ready to show me around
My best friends have always lived here
Been here for tens of thousands of years
I know they’ll never leave it even though
the government’s seized it
I know that you can’t move them off of their grounds
Transformers will always be around
I still keep all the old traditions
Like learnin’ from my Aunt in the kitchen
‘Cause I know one day she’s leavin’
With those secrets that she’s keepin’
And I know she wants to pass them on down
Before God’s ready to show her around
I’ve always been a man (gal) of nature
And the country is just so great here
I just hope we don’t screw it up
‘cause if we do we’re out of luck
The salmon runs can only take so much
Of the muck, the bark,
the slides, and the sludge
Don’t want to give the wrong impression
BC is still a slice of Heaven
Tell me where else can you find
a trout on your line every single time?
But in the creeks and lakes
you’ll find province wide
And ‘long the drive
there’s fruit and Okanagan wine
Yeah, I know a lot of musicians
from Vancouver to the east of Mission
They’re the best folk all around
I only wish they’d form a town
Then maybe I’d have someplace else
to settle down
Where I know the good lord is
workin’ clear and loud

12. When I Was Just A Little Girl 4:15
When I was just a little girl
My life I couldn’t tell
Said I’d never marry a boy
Cause that life would be Hell
Oh how I have changed
In oh so many ways
I’ve finally found a man I can
Hold for all my days
When I grew up and went to school
I didn’t want to play around
Not like the other girls in my school
Who fool, fool, fooled around
But there came a time in my life
When my feelings got changed around
That’s when I met my little boy
Yes true love can be found
Oh how I have changed
In oh so many ways
I’ve finally found a man I can
Hold for all my days
Know what you’re really like
Keep to the simple life
Build up community
Show some humanity
Know what you’re really like
Don’t just consumerize
They don’t sell reality (come on!)
Show some integrity
When I was just a little girl
My life I couldn’t tell
Pay attention. Listen up close
I’ll tell you what I’ve found
People don’t help
They never lend a hand
What’s that about?
I’ll never understand
Everybody needing more money
It’s the only thing that counts
Oh how times have changed
But I still stay the same
I’m proud, I’m kind,
I’ve got a country mind
I’m rich in different ways
Know what you’re really like
Think about what’s wrong and right
Sustainability It’s good for you and me
Know what you’re really like
Deep down on the inside
Keep close a family
The best things in life are free
If you’re feeling low or
When you’re feeling sad
Go do something nice for someone
else who’s feeling bad
When you’re feeling low or
If you’re feeling sad
Go do something nice and you’ll have
The most fun you ever had

13. Our Family Home 04:17
We’ve come to say good bye to
our family home
To one more time enjoy
the paths that we’ve roamed
To walk again along the trickling stream
To lean our backs against that old walnut tree
To turn our eyes up to the circling sky
To see that eagle flying higher and higher
It’s awful hard to have to stand by and watch
But in the end it all comes out in the wash
Memories so sweet / Memories retreat
It’s time to say good bye to our family home
To think again
about the seeds that were sown
Gather together to be set to the wind
Always remembering the home that had been
Let’s turn our eyes up to the circling sky
We’ll all be reunited there by and by
So now we stand before our family home
Holding in each of us
the love we were shown
Say goodbye with me say goodbye with me

16. The Royal Hudson 3:43
See that train coming down the track
Chugga chugga choo choo clickity clack
See that train coming ‘round the track
Chugga chugga choo choo clickity clack
A black engine caboose in the back
A big grey cloud coming out of the stack
The Royal Hudson runs again
The Crown Princess
from the Age of the Trains
The Royal Hudson runs again
The Crown Princess
from the Age of the Trains
From Montreal to the Revelstoke Line
Never did you see such a beautiful sight
Whoo-whoo Whoo-whoo is how the train whistle blows
PSI 275, 90 feet long, 15 feet high
The boiler held 12, 000 gallons
At 90 miles an hour
you can hear her howling
2860, 4-6-4 wish she could ride
the rails once more
Over hills and beyond the Plains
Tunnels through mountain terrain
Up and down so many grades
To the coast and back again
In sun and sleet and snow and rain
The Royal Hudson runs again

He done grow up to be Granola King

Long and great may be his reign
Granola King Granola King
he’ll always be our Granola King
At the first at the start
all he had was a yogurt cart
Then the woman at the top of the hill
had a recipe that she would tell
She passed it down to granola king
and now he makes it for you and me
Every morning shovel it in
you’ll always be a king within
Raise your bowl up to the king
lift your voice and help us sing

Faithful and Devoted
02:51
|

18. Faithful and Devoted 02:51
Always tried to be a good man
Faithful and devoted
Always tried to walk the path
Of faithfulness and devotion
In the Bible I know there is
Ten good ways of living
Always gonna live my life
Just as it was written
Low or high
You won’t find me here is why
I’m in the House of the Lord
And on my knees / Searching my soul
and finding peace
Always tried to be a good friend
Faithful and devoted
Upon whom you can depend
For faithfulness and devotion
On Sundays I head down to church to wash away my sinning
Always do good works to earn
my key to the gates of Heaven
High or low
You won’t find me no, no, no
I’m in the house of the Lord
And on my knees
Searching my soul and finding peace
Oh it gives me such a thrill
anytime I think I will
Go and do the good lord’s will
Spread the news from the top of the hill
Oh the rivers are holy waters
baptize your sons and daughters
There’s nothing like the
loving embrace of the lord
Always try to be a good man
Faithful and devoted
Always try to walk the path
Of faithfulness and devotion
‘Cause in the Bible
you know there is
Ten good ways of living
Always gotta live your life
Just as it was written
Here or there
You won’t find me anywhere
I’m in the house of the Lord
And on my knees
Searching my soul
and finding peace

Christmas with Sasquatch
03:46
|

20. Christmas with Sasquatch 03:46
I spent last Christmas with Sasquatch
Twas the night before Christmas
just last year
Coming in to town half a mile from here
In the middle of the road who should appear?
Sasquatch in his Christmas gear
Had a big black bag slung like a sack
His toque was red his boots were black
Part Santa part Lumberjack
And for a jacket he wore a red mack
What he was doing I couldn’t suppose
So I followed him there
off the side of the road
Down through the valley
and over to the right
Lucky I could see him
on that moonless night
Came to the den of a little racoon
I didnt know they had Christmas too
He had a little Christmas tree
and a little row of lights
Burning bright that evening night
He reached in his pack
he pulled out a present
I couldnt see what the racoon was getting
But it had a green bow and wrapping paper
Wish I could have stayed
to see him open it later
His next stop was the beaver's dam
Then the beds of the deer
and the bed of the ram
The nests in the tree and the cave of a bear
All that night we travelled far
Til each animal in that wood
That had never been naughty
and always been good
Had that night been visited by
Christmas sasquatch and I
